Theresa Toth of Downers Grove is inducted into Phi Alpha Honor Society

The Lewis University Rho Mu Chapter of Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society recently inducted 20 students, which included Downers Grove resident Theresa Toth.

Students inducted into the Rho Mu Chapter of Phi Alpha include: Joseph Baltuska, Jamie Esparza, Brianna Filewicz, Alejandra Garcia, Jamie Hogan, Mary Clair Hubert, Lindsay Leadinghouse, Ashley Lauren Markley, Paige Niestrom, Alexis Pullins, Rebecca Reiter, Maria Lourdes Reyes, Amber Lee Riff, Kelly Ann Schmidt, Julie Slayton, Brittany Diana Stankiewicz, Theresa Lilly Toth, Amanda Weinreis, Staci Wood and Brittany Wozniak.

To be eligible for nomination, students must be at least a sophomore with social work as a declared major, completed eight semesters hours of required social work courses, achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and achieved a 3.25 GPA in required social work courses.

Since 2011, the society has inducted a total of 69 students. Phi Alpha Honor Society promotes humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

The Department of Social Work at Lewis University educates generalist practice social workers who exhibit integrity and follow ethical principles.
