Natalie Horath of Oak Forest Supports Angels R Watching Foundation During Class at Lewis University

2012 Jan 10

Natalie Horath of Oak Forest was among the six Lewis University Applied Sociology students that raised money to fill 30 backpacks for the Angels R Watching Foundation.

The Angels R Watching Foundation raises awareness the importance for a child to have the right tools to further their education. The foundation is committed to building a program within the community to create a positive learning experience in the lives of underprivileged children and to obtain school supplies they need.

The students who coordinated this project were Rocio Alfaro of Rockford, Nicholas Cozzolino of Homer Glen, Natalie Horath of Oak Forest, Brittney Scott of Country Club Hills, Adam Wakely of Lombard, and Courtny Yanowsky of Homer Glen. Dr. Gail Gehrig, chair of Sociology, taught the course.

The six students held fundraisers on campus to raise money. They coordinated a bake sale and a cookout on campus and partnered with two local organizations, Five Below and BD's Mongolian Grill restaurant to involve others in the fundraising efforts.
